Freedom Rentals are a great way to explore the bays and beaches of Lake Wanaka at your own pace.
Wanaka is situated on Roys Bay and has a number of interesting sights, or just enjoy being out on the clear mountain water.

Ruby Island for a Picnic
Ruby Island is the closest island to town, which is an easy 45 minute paddle each way. It is the perfect spot to have lunch or dinner. There is a loop track around the island which takes approximately 15 minutes to walk. Bring your camera as there are plenty of photo opportunities. The island has recently been replanted with native New Zealand plants.
Allow 2 to 2.5 hours.
